T.I ft. CeeLo Green- Hello

T.I’s new video from his current album Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head, tells a humorous story of the journey of man!

The song itself stands alone as a great track, with CeeLo’s vocals and T.I.s  talk on his progress and wealth! Just that no matter where you’ve started from you can always grow and be great. The real Started From The Bottom hustle!  

The video is a great visualiser where you can see T.I. is growing as a man and an artists away from the typical Hip Hop videos (which we like but can be dated) to something more story telling and interesting!

Jessie J - Wild (Acoustic)

I thought Jessie would step out of the limelight completely to prepare a new sound, but less than a few days from her last performance she has released a preview.

Wild is her 1st single from her new album that will be released later on this year! So far it seems like a great sound! Love how she has kept her signature riffs and vibrato on her vocals for her new sound that sounds different to her singles from her debut!

Her control is 10/10 and the harmonies were crisp! Her technique is so on point!

Azekel- No Ordinary Love

Azekel is a Singer/Songwriter and Producer from London who has only recently begun his musical journey from the start of this year.

Even though not much is known about him or what else he has done, other than his Soundcloud showcase, you can tell from his lyricism and musicianship that journey is vast and future is great.

Sampling Sade’s No Ordinary Love, Azekel revamped it with a fresh new twist with the heavy drum beat, silk and subtle harmonies. His range showcased falsetto, bass tremors, rasp and different musical singing techniques that show a great future.

Singing about, possibly his own personal life, the relationship between a father and his son, the trials and tribulations with the emotions running through. Something so many guys and their fathers have gone through. Singing about this topic from a male/sons point of view is not an easy thing!

The touch of the iconic and epic episode of Will Smith in Fresh Prince of Bel Air where his father left without no warning was a GREAT touch to this heart felt song!

The main thing that caught my ear and talent from the start.

As I’ve just finished my degree and by God’s Grace soon to graduate university, I decided to make a return to what I used to love doing… Blogging about Music!

Even though it has been a long time….. a year plus?!…. and now have plenty of time on my hands, I decided to come back! it was literally a spur of the moment thing!

Whilst I’ve been away, musically I have been doing new things, going back to old things and planning on doing better things! 

I started playing the guitar, writing my own lyrics and music, listening to new artists, music, sounds, genres and artists! It has been a slow process as I’ve been busy but now that summer is here I plan to do great things musically from here on forward!

I had such great feedback from people on this blog and I hope to get it back even though it has been a long time! *covers face* :)

I will bring back the favourites; Throwback Thursday, New Artists, New Sounds and all the rests!

It’s the essence of #black #R&B #90s #music. The vocals, message, ministry and passion is just everything in this song! I remember growing up listening to this and when I got older I didn’t know the song title/artist so couldn’t find it, until after 15yrs I found it! I almost cried, no lie! I don’t listen to it often because I want to keep the nostalgic love for it! Whilst with @iamshakka - Sooner or Later this song is too sick! The vocals, lyrics, beat and elements are just everything! “If you breathe through my lungs you’d understand my passion” is such a powerful line! The influence of R&B, indie, oriental, funk is so epic and original! Big things!

702’s Where My Girls At was released in 1999 (I wasn’t even 10 LOL) from their second album 702. The single gained great chart success being in the top 5 of U.S Billboard Hot 100 & R&B/Hip Hop as well as U.K charts.

The song was produced by Missy Elliott and to this day is 702’s best known song, who can be surprised when Missy produces the hottest tunes about for over a decade! This song is just great for women as well as men because the beat is just heavy, the voices on point and the vibe just that sick! This was just the theme and sound of the 90s, Hip & B!!

Forever will be relevant as a song!

Eve- Satisfaction 

Released in 2003, Eve’s single Satisfaction was released from her 3rd album Eve-Olution and was very well known and recognised song by Eve, despite it lack of successful chart numbers.

The vibe in this song is so jazzy and hip hop you have to bounce to it, if it was dropped in any house party then or now I’m sure everyone will be on the floor 2-stepping to it!

Such a laid back video and song that it will forever be relevant with Eve and hopefully when she returns something like this can come with it aswell.

Blackstreet- Don’t Leave Me

Blackstreet’s Don’t Leave Me   was released in 1997 off of their Another Level album and did very well on Airplay charts as well as UK and Australia charts. Singing about the battle between couples and the love men are crying out for for their females, 90s R&B did everything singers of today cannot!

With tight vocals and even cleaner harmonies Blackstreet were the power group of the 90s and this song just portrays everything amazing about their music.

Stooshe- Black Heart

New UK female group Stooshe have been working hard this year to make their stamp on the music scene solid and strong. With their diverse look of Pop & R&B with their own good twist on everything they do here is their new video Black Heart.

This video is great because it showcases something very different to what they normally do yet still look amazingly good and natural. They normally mix and match with their attire and colours but they looked beautiful in their dresses and hair done up.

The song itself is something fresh and brand new in today’s music, with great vocals, harmonies and arrangement coming from the girls. If they can bring something good like this off of their previous work it seems like their music will do well!
