Throwback of the Day
702- Where My Girls At
702’s Where My Girls At was released in 1999 (I wasn’t even 10 LOL) from their second album 702. The single gained great chart success being in the top 5 of U.S Billboard Hot 100 & R&B/Hip Hop as well as U.K charts.
The song was produced by Missy Elliott and to this day is 702’s best known song, who can be surprised when Missy produces the hottest tunes about for over a decade! This song is just great for women as well as men because the beat is just heavy, the voices on point and the vibe just that sick! This was just the theme and sound of the 90s, Hip & B!!
Forever will be relevant as a song!
Throwback of the Day
Blackstreet- Don’t Leave Me
Blackstreet’s Don’t Leave Me was released in 1997 off of their Another Level album and did very well on Airplay charts as well as UK and Australia charts. Singing about the battle between couples and the love men are crying out for for their females, 90s R&B did everything singers of today cannot!
With tight vocals and even cleaner harmonies Blackstreet were the power group of the 90s and this song just portrays everything amazing about their music.
New Video of the Day
Stooshe- Black Heart
New UK female group Stooshe have been working hard this year to make their stamp on the music scene solid and strong. With their diverse look of Pop & R&B with their own good twist on everything they do here is their new video Black Heart.
This video is great because it showcases something very different to what they normally do yet still look amazingly good and natural. They normally mix and match with their attire and colours but they looked beautiful in their dresses and hair done up.
The song itself is something fresh and brand new in today’s music, with great vocals, harmonies and arrangement coming from the girls. If they can bring something good like this off of their previous work it seems like their music will do well!
Throwback of the Day
Ms. Dynamite - It Takes More
It Takes More was the debut single from Ms D’s debut album A Little Deeper in 2002, the single reached Number 7 in the UK.
The video interpreted the life the music industry lived at that time and what the negative consequences were of Hip Hop life. Usual to Ms D’s lyrics and actions she wanted to question the industry and provoke thought, very unique at that time from a female MC.
Despite the little success of the single and the album, Ms Dynamite’s music is still majorily relevant and so is her presence in the music industry.

Last night, 11/2/2012, legendary R&B/Soul singer Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room. After a string of success over two decades Whitney Houston has reached out to many, taught several, touched and inspired millions.
Throughout her career Whitney has been able to accomplish 4 No.1 albums, selling 170 million albums and singles worldwide and many of her albums being certified platinum many times over.

Despite her downfall with drug abuse and her well spoken about marriage with Bobby Brown, Whitney’s music transgressed boundaries over the globe with her voice being exceptional, emotive, powerful and beautiful. Her music has shown the genuine and raw talent she possess and how music it has touched millions over the years.
She has inspired many vocalists such as Brandy, Mariah Carey, Christina Agularia, Robin Thicke, Destiny’s Child, Jennifer Hudson and many more. With her voice and passion you know that she will continue to touch others in the future.
Tonight at the Grammy’s Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan will honour her legacy and passing by performing a few of her hits. Will be an emotional event. Despite the sudden loss of Whitney, one should celebrate her life through her music and work over the many years she has worked, performed and given.
Chose your favourite Whitney song and blast it!
Rest In Peace Whitney Houston.

New Sound
Favourite Flava- Stacy
Favourite Flava is a Swedish band coming with a nice blend of R&B, Soul, Electro, Pop. Formed in 2009 they’ve gaining great reviews from their home country Sweden and overseas in the UK as well.
Seems that this year will be the start of good commercial viewing with the release of their singles ‘Waterfall’ and ‘VII’. I love this laid back fusion of different genres on one track, with the lead singers nice range and smooth tones.
Hot New Track
The Internet - Fastlane
The Internet is a duo Hip Hop Soul DJ and Singer Syd The Kid and Matt Martins of OFWGKTA. Off from their debut album Purple Naked Ladies their 4th single Fastlane has been the only single to catch my ear from this group.
Normally, I’m not really a fan of Odd Future because of their unique sound, except for Frank Ocean but it seems that The Internet have been added to the acceptable list. It is their unique sound that really caught me off guard, very different to their group members.
Their authentic mix of Soul, Hip Hop, R&B and Indie brings something fresh to the music industry combining amazing genres into one to produce something amazing. I just love the simplistic vocals over the vibzing laid back beat with nice piano and drums!
I’ll have to keep an open for what else they release!
New Track and Video of the Day
Miguel- Adorn
After the great success of Miguel’s debut album All I Want Is You, it seems that he isn’t stopping there to produce great tracks for his fans! Miguel has been recording in London for the past few months on his new project and to keep the fans happy he has started releasing EPs. The 1st release is titled ‘Art Dealer Chic, Vol.1, which will be released on Feb 27th and the 1st single is titled Adorn.
Personally, this is probably Miguel’s best produced single to date, mainly because of the vocals and unique and raw beat. Modern day R&B, not conforming to the Pop of today but keeping to his roots but with a new twist!
Short and sweet, it appears that Miguel is going all the way in to do something unique and amazing in the music industry. I think the best bit in this song is the ending running notes! I was too shocked that he could produce such a thing…. I couldnt even emulate it!
Amazing things coming from him!
Throwback of the Day
K-C & Jojo- Tell Me Its Real (Club Asylum Remix)
Released in March 1999 from their 2nd album ‘Its Real’, the original single reached No.2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No.16 on the UK Charts.
The original was a great track but the remix is what caught me more, because of the Garage mix with it, one of the best genres out!
Had me skanking back then and even till today!
When it comes to listening to music what do you think or like listen out for the most??
Be it the live instruments, harmonies, artists vocals or range, synth beats, lyrics, breaks, drops or dynamics.
For me it will have to be the harmonies of the vocals. What makes a song for me are the harmonies that the artists puts in, the more harmonies the better!! The more of a clash the more artistic and dynamic. The more subtle the sweeter, the more original the more love!
Some of the greatest for me will have to be Beyonce, Boyz II Men, Ne-Yo, Mariah Carey, Brandy, BSLADE, Durand ‘Alcoholharmony’ Bernarr, Kirk Franklin! For me they do fantastic harmonies ranging from the bass to sopranos which I adore and just give me life!
If you want I could show you some clips of their amazing artistic thoughts!
What are yours??
