New Video of the Day
Stooshe- Black Heart
New UK female group Stooshe have been working hard this year to make their stamp on the music scene solid and strong. With their diverse look of Pop & R&B with their own good twist on everything they do here is their new video Black Heart.
This video is great because it showcases something very different to what they normally do yet still look amazingly good and natural. They normally mix and match with their attire and colours but they looked beautiful in their dresses and hair done up.
The song itself is something fresh and brand new in today’s music, with great vocals, harmonies and arrangement coming from the girls. If they can bring something good like this off of their previous work it seems like their music will do well!
The Voice Performance of the Week- Live Show 3
Tyler James- Sign Your Name
Many people may not be a fan of Tyler or think he is the best, but once you master the art of music you’ll understand why this week Tyler was on point!
Unlike many artists Tyler has mastered his tone and voice, his falsetto is on key and on point. The transitions are clean, cut and clear, unlike many other artists in the competition. Also his raspy husky voice doesn’t fault his falsetto but shes a great contrast between the two different tones.
I can see him go so far in this competition and in the industry! I have so much trust in him prior to the show and definitely after!
Hot New Artist
Purple Ferdinand- Beautiful Anomaly
Purple Ferdinand is a 23 year old up and coming singer from London with something soooo different to bring to the UK music scene!
With her silky, sweet, soft voice and soulful/folk vibe with such a unique and sexy look playing with her petite ukkalele. MTV UK has called her “a twist between Ed Sheeran and Lianne Le Havas,” which is not far off but I’m sure she can easily be her own artist in her own lane!
Her début video and song Beautiful Anomaly is a great landing to showcase what she can do; write incredibly well and sing just as good!
She has been singing on Youtube for a while doing covers and original music gathering her fanbase and recently been touring doing live sessions. Hopefully she breaks through this year and does something great.
Throwback of the Day
Ms. Dynamite - It Takes More
It Takes More was the debut single from Ms D’s debut album A Little Deeper in 2002, the single reached Number 7 in the UK.
The video interpreted the life the music industry lived at that time and what the negative consequences were of Hip Hop life. Usual to Ms D’s lyrics and actions she wanted to question the industry and provoke thought, very unique at that time from a female MC.
Despite the little success of the single and the album, Ms Dynamite’s music is still majorily relevant and so is her presence in the music industry.
Throwback of the Day
Basement Jaxx - Romeo
Basement Jaxx are a London electric/dance producing duo who produced one of the greatest Dance tunes of the late 90s and early 00s.
One of their most popular hits Romeo was released in June 2001 and it reached No.1 UK Dance Charts and No.5 Billboard Dance Chart in the US, receiving great reviews and success from many sources, some claiming it to be the best dancefloor anthem to date!
I loved this song because of the vocals from UK R&B singer Kele Le Roc for her simple yet drawing in vocals. Also the sound had everyone on their feet no matter where they were, such a great dancefloor sound with a creative video!
Throwback to the young days!
Hot New Artist
Jermaine Riley
British R&B singer Jermaine Riley has come into the new year ready to take the music scene with his own unique sound, style and creativity.
Previously a member of UK R&B band FDM, Jermaine has decided to take the solo path to show what talent he can produce by himself. His unique tone and sound mixed together with his good look and great moves, Jermaine is ready to show the world what a force he can be.
Despite the setbacks in his career it seems like this will be it for Jermaine, where the music scene can sit up and see his work come through. He has released a few free mixtapes in recent months and some videos to go along side them aswell. Above is his latest song and video, mixed with retro yet current look and a unique sound of R&B, Soul, Funk and contemporary sound!
Support great and good music, here is the link to his free mixtape!

Live Performance of the Day
Ellie Goulding- Grey Goose Rising Icons
Ellie has recently had a fantastic year in the UK and USA, and has now been recognised as a rising icon.
In this intimate performance she performs her most popular songs Guns & Horses and Starry Eyed.
This is such an amazing showcase of her talent; drawn back music with just the acoustic guitar and her voice! Its performances like these that I love the most because you can see the artist zone out into their own world and feel at one with their song. Look at how she pauses and has her own moments but yet still drawns in her audience.
X Factor Winners Song
Little Mix- Cannonball
The winners of X Factor UK 2011 were the well deserved girl group ‘Little Mix’ and their winning single was Cannonball, originally by Damien Rice.
Little Mix’s progression and development is was what was their main reason of winning as well as their incredible vocals, charisma and passion. I really like this single, mainly because of Pierre’s vocals, she is such an incredible vocalist!
X Factor Performance of the Week
Amelia & Kelly Rowland- River Deep
This extremely powerful and entertaining performance by Amelia and Kelly really showed what both singers have to offer!
Great vocals, beautiful harmonies and good delivery! Kelly really showed UK what she can do on the stage yet again with an even better vocal performance than her previous weeks show!
Sadly Amelia didnt win but she really showed what she got with this!
Hot New Track & Video of the Day
Friendly Fires- Hurting
Friendly Fires recently released a new video Hurting from their album Pala
It is such a futuristic and creative video by the group, great dancing from Ed, beautiful model and summery scene!
As per usual F.F vocals are so precise, on point and creative, that is what attracted to them, the harmonies are so different and unique to their sound!
Great video and nice song!
X Factor Performance of the Night (Week 4)
Little Mix- E.T
I really thought that Little Mix did really well with this weeks performance. Great solo vocals, sweet harmonies and good stage routine.
I loved the blonde girls vocals, she has some nice runs going on!
The seem to be doing really well this competition and hopefully they’ll go far because they can actually sing!
This was closely followed by Marcus’ performance, he is really excelling!!
Throwback of the Day
Tina Moore- Never Gonna Let You Go (Artful Dodger Remix)
Now this is a badman Garage tune!! Old Skool!
I remember when I first heard this song back in the day and loved it since! Artful Dodgers were really the Garage masters!
Throwback of the Day
Gabrielle- Dreams
Gabrielle was the Queen of UK R&B/Soul in the 90s! She had such a unique, distinctive and beautiful voice that he talent was so bright despite anything else.
This was one of the earliest videos I had seen of Gabrielle when I was young and it has stuck in my head since! Such a timeless song and can never been forgotten!
She is a UK legend and will be known forever!!
Hot New Track of the Day
T-Pain feat. Lily Allen & Wiz Khalifa- 5 O’Clock
Really feeling T-Pain’s comback tune, since he has been out of the music industry for a few years now! He has come returned to his ’ Rappa Turnt Sanga’ days where he sings insteads of raps.
The feature list is a surprising mix of a UK singer and American rapper, but they compliment each other well in their own way. Allen singing smoothly in the chorus and Wiz doing his usual self in the last verse.
The video is interesting aswell, telling a story of two people, something T-Pain hasnt done before! Great colours and good location
This shows a good insight into what is to come from Pain in his forthcoming album, possibly something different to what he has done before!
Throwback of the Day
Mark Morrison- Return Of The Mack
Wooooiii everyone knows this is a tune! CLASSIC!! From back in the day when music was worth paying for and listening to!
This is another of the set of songs that I remember from my childhood that is vivid in my memory!
Classic song and classic video! Forever will be the best, not this Mann guy…who!!
